Vanguard Changes Benchmarks on Four ETFs

By February 23, 2013

Follow me on:

Last week, Vanguard announced that 4 of its ETFs will be correlating with new indexes...

  • MGC - Vanguard Mega Cap ETF used to track the MSCI US Large Cap 300 Index, but now will follow the Vanguard Mega Cap 300 ETF. And it also change its name to the Vanguard Mega Cap 300 ETF.
  • VB - Vanguard Small-Cap ETF used to track the MSCI US Small Cap 1750 Index, but now will follow the CRSP US Small Cap Index.
  • VO - Vanguard Mid-Cap ETF used to track the MSCI US Mid Cap 450 Index, but now will follow the CRSP US Mid Cap Index
  • VV - Vanguard Large-Cap ETF used to track the MSCI US Prime Market 750 Index, but now will follow the CRSP US Large Cap Index.

As you can see, all four funds switched to CRSP indexes, but only MGC will change its name. And Vanguard is not done with just these four, other ETFs will be changing their benchmarks in the future as well, so stay tuned...
